How many obstructions have your children had due to flaring? We are on our second hospital stay in 8 months. He had a resection just under 3 years ago. Been on remicade 2 years now and added methotrexate to that after our last hospital stay.

I've had about 3 since my diagnosis 23 years ago (I was 9 when diagnosed). Had my first resection when I was 17 because of recurring partial obstructions.
Hopefully adding Methotrexate will help. Keep in mind though that scar tissue does shrink over time and can also cause obstructions. Inflammation on top of that doesn't help (also adds more scar tissue) so hopefully it's just inflammation on top of the scar tissue so he can start feeling better soon once the inflammation is gone. Solu Medrol through the IV helped clear up my last obstruction then my meds were changed again (now I take 6MP with Allopurinol so I can tolerate the 6MP). So far so good.

Both of my children have had resections but neither have flared since. They have fistulising disease so obstructions haven’t been an issue for them thus far.
I hope they are able to find answers to keep this from happening again mum. :ghug:
