Just wondering about starting my son on omega 3( he normally just has a multivitamin but I read omega 3 can be good for inflammation etc)
What are people thoughts on this please and are they ok to take while on medication? Thanks

We were told it was ok to take omega 3 but it was better to get it from foods
Such as eggs olive oil etc...

We did give the girls a supplement for a while, but it can make the blood thinner. As a result, my girls both got bruises. They're also on NSAIDs so that might have something to do with it.

Fish oil is LIKELY SAFE for most people, including pregnant and breast-feeding women, when taken in low doses (3 grams or less per day). There are some safety concerns when fish oil is taken in high doses. Taking more than 3 grams per day might keep blood from clotting and can increase the chance of bleeding.

Our pediatrician said to stop the fish oil after they started getting bruises, so we did. We didn't notice any change, so not sure if it was doing anything. They still eat lots of eggs and fish and we try get it from food instead.

I don't think it would do any harm. Neither my kids like a lot of fish so hard to get from diet

Do you give omega 3 to the kids Sascot? My 2 love salmon but don't think would be enough. Better than nothing I guess xx

I'm just about to start my daughter on one on the recommendation of a nutritionist. She told us to get Biocare - Mega EPA. Waiting on our first delivery

I checked with GI as I wanted to use it for overall health. He said wont help crohn's but won't hurt either. So we did start supplementing. Tesscorm uses krill oil. I think because it is somehow better for crohns but I forget why
