I just started on Humira on the 1st of April. A few days after I did the first dose I started having a little cough. Well its been a week and the cough is still here and not really bad but getting worse. Should this be a concern since the Humira suppresses the immune system. I feel okay otherwise. No fever or any other cold symptoms.

My daughter had this soon after starting Humira. It was the middle of summer too. Her cough was pretty bad, sounded like a smokers cough. It took about a month to get rid of it. We used vicks vapor rub and throat losengers until it cleared up. We did go to the docs and was told to continue with Humira and just wait it out. It was going to take longer to get rid of. Doc was right. She hasn't gotten it since but when she has gotten sick it takes her longer to get rid of it.

I'll tag in Jennifer

I think she had this happen when she was on Humira. Am I right Jennifer?

Partially except my coughing turned into something more. I was actually getting recurring upper respiratory infections which later included a sore throat, body aches, sometimes fever etc (basically symptoms of strep throat). I stopped using Humira after 3 months of trying to wait and see if it would stop.

Definitely tell your doctor about it so they are at least aware. If it gets worse then contact your doctor or the pharmacist who supplies it especially if you're having symptoms before your next dose. If it stays as just a cough then great, hopefully it will go away with time but if it gets worse then it may not be something that will go away and you'll have to switch to something else.
