I was wondering what noodles you all eat and how you prepare them i like the Japanese style noodles udon, ramen, soba and maybe the other ones like egg etc... I seem to only find recipes with heaps of rich sauces which i don't think is good for crohn's but what is a good way to prepare them thats more friendly for us crohnies

My son (not diagnosed) seems to always be able to tolerate Katsobushi Dashi even when he's feeling really unwell. It's a simple stock made with konbu (kelp) and bonito flakes (smoked tuna flakes). To it you can add any other Japanese style flavours you can handle, eg ginger, sesame oil, miso, soy sauce, green onion.

Which gives a nice Japanese style soup that you can put your noodles in.

I can eat any white, not whole grain noodle and do regularly. I usually experiemnt with flavor I will put olive oil and powder pesto one day. Maybe Adobe and Grated cheese the next I just toss stuff in and eat. I don't use spaghetti sauce's or stuff like that usually as I don't do well with them.

I Love to make soup out of them. I just put carrots, onions, garlic, salt and pepper in about 1 1/2 ot of water or better yet, chicken broth, (you can get chicken broth in a can at any store. Use 4-5 can or broth.) put the veg's in and cook them well and them put the noodles in and cook for about 15-20min. on low to med heat.

You can put anything in the soup, I put potatos, cellery and chicken in mine. Really you can put anything in the soup that is a "safe" for for you.

I hope you enjoy this. I sure do. Nothing like homemade soup.
