I have heard that some people have been prescribed pain killers for their chrohns when they are starting to have a bad flare. Just over a year ago when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, the pain killers they gave me also helped me with my chrohns. Tomorrow I see my Doctor, should I bring this up to him ? It would be nice to have them for an emergency.

Also, it appears my Doctor will be starting me on Humira as well. I was wondering if you have any experiences with it, and if you did how long did it take before you started to notice a difference (If at all) I know everyone is different, but just wondering.

For some reason I have a great feeling about Humira, and I hope that feeling is right.

It can't hurt to ask your doctor, but as a warning, some doctors are very "stingy" with pain meds since they have an abuse potential. I can understand where you are coming from of course, and if he gives you a script for emergencies that'd be great. Every GI doctor has their own opinion on prescribing painkillers for Crohn's.

As for Humira, it took me about 1 month to feel its effects, and by 2 months or so I was in remission. Of course everyone is different, but I have had/am having a wonderful experience with it. It's good that you feel positive going into it also. I hope it really works for you too! :)

Hi, I hope the humira works well for you. For a great list of peoples experiences you may want to check out the humira sub forum under treatments. There is a humira club thread that I found very helpful when I started down that path in December.
