So I found out yesterday that I have a large partial obstruction in the small bowel. I guess I shouldn't complain about it that much this is the first serious issue I've had with Crohn's in almost two years. The doctor put me back on steroids to reduce the inflamation and help break it up. I also went on a soft foods diet consisting of soup, pudding, ice cream, applesauce and other unappealing liquids. I've drank nearly 3/4 of a bottle of prune juice and today I started drinking loads and loads of water. I am hoping all this will clear it up and it seems to be working because I've been hugging the toilet pretty much all day. but the big questions I have are:

Any one whose had to break one of these up what is the outcome? What does the stool look like? Also, how can you tell it's working?

Hum... I am a bit confused. It's coming out, is it?... I've had partial obstruction a few time but mine were mostly mechanical because of the volvulus of the small bowel that was, I don't know, tangling it up? So it would just naturally get back in place and the obstruction would resolve and the food that was clustered would eventually come out. I don't know if you are still blocked up. Is it a stricture or blockage due to inflammation or...?

I wasn't really sure. This is the first time I've actually seen one on the x-ray. The doctor told me that it looked like residue build up because of inflammation. I'm pretty sure it worked itself out over the weekend and I went back to eating solid food. I was just a little freaked because my brother had a full on obstruction and had emergency surgery a few years ago.

Unfortunately, I have spend the next few weeks tapering of the pred.
