Does pepto bismol or immodium work better for you all? Also, how long does pepto bismol last? Can you just take one dose per day or do you have to keep taking it every half hour like the box says?

I have always took immodium, but it seems like it is not working very well for me anymore. I just took one dose of pepto in hopes that it will last longer but I don't really want to have to be taking one every 30 minutes.

I like the pepto chewables. Immodium seems to make me a bit constipated, pepto just slows things down a bit.

Oh I wish Immodium made me constipated! It always wares off by around dinner time, even if I take more than one dose during the day. And when I have to go, I need to be at a bathroom within SECONDS. Pepto does not seem to be working for me either, seeing that it has already worn off. I only took one dose though. Maybe I will experiment with it again on another day I can stay home(next to a bathroom) all day.

Immodium gel works better for my daughter than the capsule or liquid (she gags a lot on the liquid too). Pepto does nothing for her. I find if she takes more than 2 dosages a day for a few days it stops doing anything. If she lays off it for a week she can go back to using it again.

Pre-crohn's I was able to use Pepto Bismol and it would help for those rare instances when I would need it.

Since crohn's the only thing that works is Immodium Multi-Symptom relief. And I can only use half of one pill for effectiveness this stuff is strong on me. It helps with diarrhea and gas that causes me pain. When I flare this is what I take before I go out places where I know I will be in a social setting or if I will have limited access to restrooms.

I can't use regular Immodium because it backs me up and gives me so much trapped gas and discomfort even using one pill.
