Has anyone done the pillcam colon? I'm not talking about the original pillcam that only views the small intestine. I'm talking about the one that shows everything in place of a colonoscopy. I've got a bad fistula and refuse to do a colonoscopy as I know the prep and procedure would make the fistula so much worse. I've been looking at the pillcam colon website and can't seem to figure out if it is offered in the United States and how to get it.

Hi Elizajp, I have 2 setons and I had a colonoscopy a couple of months ago. It did not make my fistulas any worse than it is. I was thinking it may rip the setons and make the holes even bigger but it never happened. What I did was, I talked to the doctor who was scheduled to do my colonoscopy and told her that I had 2 setons and discussed with her what my concerns are. She gave me good preparation tips, and luckily everything went well with the colonoscopy.

Without prep it is unlikely the pill cam which includes the colon would work. It wouldn't be able to move freely and get any views of the mucosa if there were faeces in the way.
