Hi all, I am doing the capsule endoscopy test. I just had my agile pill test and it passed through :thumright: ...so tomorrow is prep and Thursday is the actual Pillcam Day. I thought I would pass along my experiences here in this thread for anyone else who may have it in the future. Nothing exciting happened with the agile pill portion. The scanner was kind of cool though. It was like a giant V shaped, plastic thing the nurse held in both hands and walked around me to see if the thing would beep like a metal detector would, but it never did. (a good thing)

I will follow up on Thursday with the Pillcam experience. :ysmile:

Following up. The prep yesterday was of course gross. I really hate prep. This morning I went in and they hooked up 8 giant leads all over my abdomen. Then I wore a belt that looked like a back brace which in front had a pocket for the data recorder. Swallowed the blinking pillcam and then went home. Very easy and non-evasive. Went back several hours later and they removed everything.

The only thing I did not like was of course the prep and fasting. The other thing was that the agile pill had a lactose covering which upset my stomach a bit. The pillcam did not. Now the only thing I have to do is call the Dr.'s office when I see the blinking light in the toilet to let them know the pillcam came out. ;-)

Congrats! I did apillcam study back in june. It was pretty exciting. And i was one of the first people in my area to take part. The fasting was awful! I didn't/couldn't eat for something like 44 hours, and i am a type one diabetic. I was at my doctor's office the whole day of the actual study. Swallowed it at 9am and it didn't pass until 1am!! Haha. It was really exciting when it finally prevailed though. Hope everything with yours went well! :)

The fasting is horrible. I am hypoglycemic, so fasting just makes me ill, like I am sure it does you witht the type 1 diabetes. Mine didn't pass until the next morning. I joked with my husband that I was sad the pillcam still wasn't blinking. I wanted "blinking poop". I know that is kind of gross, but you have to find humor in it all. =) Got my results yesterday. When diagnosed two months ago, it was in the cecum and rectum. The results from the pillcam show Crohn's in the distal terminal ileum, but the remainder of the small bown unremarkable. Hope yours went well.
