This may be a dumb question but most bags I have tried seem to allow my stoma breathing room with the occasional smooshing of the plastic against the stoma as it moves.

The bag I have now is tighter (width wise) and the plastic is right on the stoma constantly. It looks smooshed a bit and like its suffocating but the output is fine.

Is this dangerous? Will my stoma be mad at me?

I hope I'm understanding the question! When I had a stoma I used to wear an elasticated support belt around my abdomen to control the lower opening which had started to prolapse. This held the bag tight against the upper, active opening and I never had any problems with it not having any "breathing" room. It seemed to perform OK with the belt in place. I wore it most of the time.

Its nothing bad, but it will cause pancaking. Just open the bottom and expand it a bit to allow some air in, then close the bottom back up. There needs to be a little air in the bag to work best. I get that a lot when I first do a bag change.

I think the filter keeps taking the air out but the filter is getting full of poop so it may keep the air in.
