(Possible) Vaccine developed for Crohn's

The CMV trials seem to have experienced another setback, as announced via their most recent newsletter last week (excerpt below).

I have to hand it to them though, they're staying on message. The Telegraph article is from Dec. 2000, so they've been pitching the same story for close to two decades now.

"We have a disappointing announcement to make:
GMP manufacture of the second component of the vaccine - by IDT in Germany - has been subject to a delay. The delay has come not as a result of any problems or difficulties with the manufacture process but because IDT have taken a decision to give priority to one of their other vaccine projects. This delay has put back the estimated start date of the Phase I trial from Sept to Dec 2016, which in turn puts back the start date of the Phase IIa trial. The new timeline is illustrated in the Gantt chart below."

I agree, that is very unfortunate - but the more I research I do, the more I see the same thing and it's very disappointing and makes me feel less confident in their message...how bad would that be if it all turned out not to be true or they keep setting it back like 5-10 more years, etc...why would they do that if they knew it would work, and if they knew it wouldn't but kept pursuing it anyway, I can't imagine being responsible for the disappointment of all those people anxiously waiting. I am hoping the redhill and ssi trials are going to be the sure thing, considering they are underway and more than likely will be complete within the next 5 years. Those I think would really make a huge impact on the GI world. Perhaps if Redhill was successful, it would bring another look into the MAP cause and so others can jump on board to create a vaccine or if the antibiotics do it, then that would be the answer right there....
