The lovely topic of suppositories!

I used to find talking about these things really embarrassing to talk about, but then you realise there is no point in getting embarrassed. Now it's my favourite subject!

I have been prescribed them by my GP to help reduce inflammation of anal skin tags. I also have hems but i don't think they are causing me much pain. I also think that the inflammation in that general area is also making my coccyx hurt too. It's a minefield. Find it painful to lie down, sit doQwn, stand up, stay still, move about. Sometimes I find a patch and there is no pain :)

I seem to have a constant bruised like feeling all the time which makes me feel like i need a bm. When i have actually have a bm i find that my anus stings/burns so much i'm almost crying.

The suppositories are to be taken one a day. I was taking them at bedtime (11pm ish) as this would give it the most chance to work before bm (4am ish). Today i decided to take it at 1pm instead and then have a sleep (i'm not working at the moment so i can choose anytime). I slept like a log but only managed 3hrs before needing bm.

I have been finding that they give me insomnia, my feet start dancing in bed. Before you know it, it's 4am and i've not really slept.

I also find that they make my stomach gurgle and feel really tender.

Has anyone tried them and found similar issues?

The only kind of suppository I've used are the kind that are meant to make you go (used to have to put one in the night before a colonoscopy).

As far as Prednisone in general taking it in the morning is best as it can affect sleep.

The only suppositories I take are the ones the night before the colonoscopy as well, however, with the prednizone, they say you should take it with your main meal.

I take mine around noon...

in the morning I take my celexa and adderall,

seems to work ok for me but the important thing with the prednizone is to take it with a meal.

Hi Uffie.
I'm meant to be taking Pred & Salofalk supps - one in the morning and one in the evening.
I haven't noticed if they give me insomnia - now that you have mentioned it - I'm going to monitor it! I take them in a very ad hoc way as they seem to do little to control or manage my CD.
