Hi guys i really need some advice - i'm undiagnosed after 2 1/2 years and they have put me on a Prednisolone trial. I have felt fine all day since i took them until now. I have this massivepain in lower left side of stomach and feel terribly sick :( is there anything i can do to reduce either of these. Also the mental effects of it have come to play too, i get sleep paralasys a lot - so of course it decideds to do that to me so i feel even more sick with worry. Anything i can do to reduce this as i'm getting paranoid to go back to sleep as don't fancy another one of those again. :( Help!

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I think you should be giving the doctor a call or visit the hospital. I don't know what might be going on - especially being undiagnosed.

Are you under the care of a GI specialist? Are you undergoing any testing to try and figure out what's going on?

Sending you my support. I hope things get figured out for you.

I agree with Dave. It sounds like you may have a blockage or a very small section that can pass food. If this is your first day on prednisone, the drug has not had enough time to reduce the inflammation. Dose your medical have an advice line you can call?

Hi, thanks for your reply :) I do have a GI however trying to speak to him is impossible as the NHS gastro department is so backed up. Hes useless anyway, most unhelpful ever. The lead practitioner at my GP surgery decided on this trial. I have had every test in the book, until recently, everything returned clear. However at a recent flex sig in may the GI's report said long term chronic inflammation and irritation was found but the biopsies hadnt come back with a cure. So he refused any treatment. The lead practitioner at the gp surgery thought this guy was mental after the amount he found to leave me with nothing. Hes waitin on a new GI to be hired, other ones a locum, and then he says he'll refer me as an emergency to see the new one asap for a 3rd opinion. My GP really doesnt think its functional after the GI report. No further testing is planned as this GI has fobbed me off all together.

Thanks for your support - i shall be phoning my GP in the morning as side effects still continuing! Thanks, all the best! Rose x

Screw that noise. I'd go to A&E. That's how I got my official diagnose. It's not your fault that they can't staff a GI department. There comes a point when your health is the most important thing. If the pain gets worse tonight, take the fun ride to A&E.
