Hey guys!
I take Remicade every 6 weeks and that has worked wonders for me! I was in remission for about a year but alas, the drugs are not fool-proof. I had a minor flare up a little over a week ago (Not too bad) so my GI put me on 30mg of Prednisone to taper off of along with metronidazole. I was a little concerned at first just because I tried Prednisone when I was first diagnosed and my CRP levels were somewhere in the 40s or 50s. I was on 40mg at that time but it didn't do a darn thing (consequently leading me to switch to Remicade). I noticed a difference in my pain after 2 or 3 days but it hasn't gone away completely.

Prednisone is such a powerful corticosteroid that I can't imagine anyone that the drug just, "doesn't work" on. From all of you that have much more experience with Prednisone than me, I would love some input!

How long does the drug usually take to kill off all the inflammation for you?

Prednisone not work for any of you?

Thanks so much!
Cameron

Prednisone did not help me at all. It only made my bleeding worse. I'm a freak, what can I say! Hahaha!

Well, I shouldn't say it didn't help at all. It did help a little, but not enough for me to continue on it for long. I was on 50 mg for 4 weeks and then tapered off.

i found it did help me. i was on IV streoids for a week and then started at 40mg for a month. then tapering down. all of my symptoms didnt fully stop until i was on it for months. however, i was feeling a lot better about 2 weeks after i started on pred.
i am now 5months on, and stopped pred this week. i still have the odd symptom, so not sure if it has completely "cured" the inflammation...
