Hey guys!
I take Remicade every 6 weeks and that has worked wonders for me! I was in remission for about a year but alas, the drugs are not fool-proof. I had a minor flare up a little over a week ago (Not too bad) so my GI put me on 30mg of Prednisone to taper off of along with metronidazole. I was a little concerned at first just because I tried Prednisone when I was first diagnosed and my CRP levels were somewhere in the 40s or 50s. I was on 40mg at that time but it didn't do a darn thing (consequently leading me to switch to Remicade). I noticed a difference in my pain after 2 or 3 days but it hasn't gone away completely.
Prednisone is such a powerful corticosteroid that I can't imagine anyone that the drug just, "doesn't work" on. From all of you that have much more experience with Prednisone than me, I would love some input!
How long does the drug usually take to kill off all the inflammation for you?
Prednisone not work for any of you?
Thanks so much!
