Hi Ladies,

I'm 7 weeks pregnant at the moment and the last couple of days I've had the worst gas imaginable. I know that is normal in pregnancy and I'm used to bad gas. But I'm so bloated it's painful and I hear noises coming from my gut I've never heard before and when the gas moves it's agony! I feel like I'm farting every 5 minutes..

I guess my question is have any of you had this during pregnancy? I don't know what is normal and what isn't since it's my first pregnancy.

Also I was in the middle of a really bad flare up when I found out I was pregnant, it's calmed down now but I'm hoping the pain will go too because I can't sleep properly! (Good training for the future I guess)

thanks..

Hi Chris,

Congratulations on your little bundle of joy. If the gas pain is really that bad I'd suggest calling your Ob/Gyn about it or your GI. I honestly haven't had any children but I do know that before you take any over the counter anti gas medications, it's best to talk to your doctor.

Have a safe and short delivery (less than 12 hrs.) :) ~Gutless Wonder Woman

I had similar experience in early pregnancy. My ob thought it was just air bubbles popping from growing baby. It wasn't very painful though.

Turns out it was just a stomach bug. Thank goodness, I had visions of that lasting for months and months.
