Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

I am about 85% certain that certain strains of bacteria bring on most symptoms and other bacteria prevent the former ones from causing problems. To make use of this a person has to either kill the offending bacteria or squeeze it out with beneficial bacteria, or both.

Yeast also plays a role and many will do better on a high protein, low grain diet. I respond to this diet very well. Grain is probably one of the worst foods for us, and is one of the last foods humans adopted. It has fungus in it, and promotes its growth. Early man certainly did not eat much, if any of it.

If carbs are needed vegetables are a far better source.

Fruit Juices with added sugar or High Fructose Corn Syrup should not be consumed often. Soda will not help either.

Removing bad bacteria has to be done by starving it out as well as actively forcing it from our system.

These are a few things I believe are correct from the masses of information out there. I also have personal confirmation for much of it.
