My son had a psoas abscess.

How is it still causing you discomfort dave? Surely it’s not still there?! :yfaint:

Yeah certainly is, it's not often it hurts but it does like to remind me it did a bit of damage every now and then. Did your son have to have it drained? I spent 4 days with a tube inside me and stitched to my back. All I was bothered about when coming back from the ct room was that I had missed neighbours lol

Neighbours?! No way!

Yeah he had it drained. A few days after they put the drain in they sent him for a sinogram and it showed it was connected to a fistula. So the drain was in for 3 months and then he had resection surgery.

Yeah right, the drugs. :shifty:

The drain was in for so long because they were waiting for his inflammation to go from acute to chronic. Irony was what they thought was extensive inflammation on his scans was a red herring and his actual bowel inflammation was hadn’t changed from the time of diagnosis.

Matt was a classic case of the surgeon not really knowing what they will find until they get in there. Actually my daughter was too. :eek2:
