Hi all. Its my first post here.
I've been living with Crohns Colitis for over 13 years now.
Since most sufferers need to rush off to a public toilet when away from home, I was wondering if there was any pocket fresheners people recommend using. I am finding the smell after I been embarrasing.
I've tried little bottles of after shave but its strong and obvious. Currently i'm using a small mint mouth spray which is ok. Effervescent tablets would be useful as they are small but yet to find any.
Any ideas?

Hi Ben!
I happened upon the perfect product!!
It is a room spray/freshener the size of a lighter or lipstick tube.
Sold by Glade products in the same area as other room fresheners.
One short burst and it's nice and fresh again.
Not expensive at all and you can carry it in your pocket.

Hope that helps.
Nancy

P.S. I just looked at it because I picked another one up last night at the drug store...
It comes on cardboard and plastic packaging and is called Glade Ultra.

About the spray Nancy is right i too picked mine up at Pharma-Plus Drug Store.
You never no when your gonna have an accident.
I keep one in my car to Because a few times I couldn't make it ant where but in a bag in the backseat of a car. Now this is the first time that I ever told thie story I think it's to embarassing. But hey when you gotta go you gotta go. THere was no way I was going in my pants. We were on the 401 in a traffic jam and no where that I could run too.
So I carry one in my purse and one in my car.(bad farts too) lol

You might have a hard time finding it.depending where you live. If your from the states I don't no where you could find the spray.Nancy and I are from Canada.

Good luck on your Journey.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I use sprays that come with my ostomy kit but I guess they are similar to the ones Nancy and Tammy mention. If all else fails, just make a big thing of the fact that the toilet really smelt when you went in it too, then that gets you out of an embarrassing situation lol

I just look at it as, someone else was going to smell the toilet up at some point so it might as well be me. When I am on the crapper I just sit and laugh at the unsuspecting person who comes behind me and get a wiff.LOL

But seriously those glade things are amazing I had one for a while and it did wonders until I ran out and just never picked it up again.

Also welcome ask any question you want and someone will try to help you

WHEN YOU GOTTA GO YOU GOTTA GO.
THANK GOD FOR PLASTIC BAGS NOW INSTEAD OF THE OLD PAPPER BAGS.
OR DO THEY STILL USE PAPER BAGS FOR GROCIERS IN SOME AREAS?

Hi again and thanks for all your advice.
I live in the UK and not sure I can get Glade Ultra here but i'll try. If not I'll continue to use the mint spray mouth freshener.
I have a lot of stories to tell but have always been embarrassed. At least I can share it with others now.
Thanks again

Hi Ben, where abouts in the UK are you? I'm in South Yorkshire. I actually use Friends ostomy spray its free for people with ostomys. If you don't have an ostomy, you can get small pocket size scents whether it be for men or women in places like Boots or Superdrug. Deodorant or body spray would be better than aftershave as its not as potent. I'm sure a chemist will have something, as I say I haven't needed to look but I may do so at some point so it would be interesting to hear back from you as to what you found.

I use Ozium. It comes in a little spray can that fits in a pocket or purse. It's made for cars and trucks and you can usually find it in the Auto Accessories section of the WalMart or whatever department store or auto parts store might be handy. Truck stops and mini marts carry it too. It comes in different "flavors", as my son used to say. One little squirt and POOF! all better.

I also carry a small box of safety matches. A stuck and blown out match can handle even the most potent of farts. I have a colostomy and it works for that too.

I haven't tried the Glade stuff. I will tho since a lot of you mentioned it. It's worth a shot.
