I have a stenosis in my small bowel about 7 cm long. There is mentioned in my surgery paper, in the ct scan, in the MRI etc. Last year the Gi said that its something I will have to fight, cooperate with him, take my meds etc etc. He also said that it will probably cause another flare in the future but we will keep an eye on it. Fast forward this year I am flaring NOT in the stenosis area. The inflamation is again at my terminal ileum just after the anastomosis. I have the pred, blood work, the whole nine yards aaaaaaand Humira. Yesterday the doctor asked about my stenosis (the same doc) Saw some of my LAST years exams and went beserk. He said that I will probbaly need surgery, that the stenosis isbig and that I will take the Humira and maybe "Against all odds" it will deal with the stenosis, but if not I will need a surgery in a year or so.
Ok I probably have this stenosis for years, my first flare was lower than it. My second flare was lower also, the ct scan showed that above the stenosis my bowel is normal, I have D every day, and the obstruction I had in the summer was also below the stenosis.
Is it normal to be so worried? why should I touch something that doesnt bother me till now? Anyone had a similar experience?
Also I find it really strange that the same doctor, looking at the same scan had two tottaly different reactions within a year. He was either lying to me last summer or he has dementia (he is 67y.o. and ready to retire). He is a public hospital doctor and he is not the one to operate on me if I finally do the surgery so he has nothing to gain but still. Has anyone else a similar experience with a stenosis? and what did you do?
