Question about steriods

My 18 year old son was diagnosed with active Crohn's in November. He is on Asacol, Aciphex and predisone. He started out on 40mg of the steroids and has got down to 10mg this week. He has started feeling like his body is on fire from hot flashes every couple of minutes. Is this normal? We are new to this and are trying to find out if that is the cause of it or if that is a new symptom from the disease itself. Can anyone give any advice?

:Welcome: to the forum. Yes, I had the same thing for about a week and then goes away. Make sure he drinks alot of water, not sodas or juice, because you can be dehydrated very easily. Also can be from the disease as well. Normally when you are down to 10mg some other symptoms can pop up or back to feeling crappy. We are all different but he will be ok, but should get blood work done soon if he hasn't already.
