Also have a query about 6mp and sunlight- I work outdoors- all the hospital staff just make scrunchy faces and sucky-in noises and wince when I mention it. Just how bad is it? I'm lucky it's coming into winter so I'm back in trousers and long sleeves with hat and sunscreen - but summer? 40 degree + heat when I'm just used to boots, and short gear. I have olive skin and no skin cancers yet ever- now my legs are insipidly white with black hairs, kind of like a photo negative of my former self- should I find an indoor job? - dear Agony Aunt/Uncle -please do help.

It says to try and avoid sun exposure while on 6mp or Imuran, but while I was on Imuran I didn't notice too many problems. I was already on a medication that made me sensitive to sunlight. Just remember to wear sunscreen and you should be fine.

I'm fair skinned and live in the UK and find my self burning. I'd defo say it depends on the person. I went out in 15 degrees and burnt today ( I know right winter temp for you), it's crazy. Theocean is right always b safe wear sun tan lotion.

My hospital is making me an appointment with their dermatologists to assess risk. As an outdoors worker fortunately it is now getting wintery and cloudy days in the low 20's. When summer comes around and long days(I go to a 5am and come home 5pm) in up to 40 degree it is a different story. Thankfully (as hospital staff said) I have olive skin. I have spent 4 years in the northern hemisphere- the light heat and light is nothing like this down here. We shall wait to see what they recommend...

ps- with the pred and industrial loads of 50+ sunscreen the amount of Vesuvial pimples is astounding- as a 49 year old it's not quite drinking from the fountain of youth and am contemplating speaking with a breaking voice to see what reactions I get...

As long as you wear sunscreen you should be fine.
I find that I get itchy if out in direct sun when I'm on the 6MP but sunscreen helps and also no sunburn which is nice! (I'm pasty and burn like crumpets in the sun anyway)
