Hi All!

I was diagnosed with Crohns disease in 2011 aged 17 (personally I knew something was wrong aged 14 but was misdiagnosed as constipation!!) for sure Crohns stunted my growth which leaves me a mere 5'6 which gives me a disadvantage with women but the self wallow has passed now.. Now 20 and having slightly grown out of the "Alcohol and partying" stage of life, I'm coming to grips with getting the disease under control..

My diet is pretty normal (apart from Brussel sprouts and other highly gaseous veg which have hospitalized me twice)..

I play sport (Golf) professionally and for a living, it can be quite hard but walking usually alleviates any bloating which is obviously a massive bonus.. I find gym work quite difficult but maintain a healthy body-weight of 154 pounds at about 12% bodyfat (I try my best to keep in shape, the motivation is the hardest part)

Looking forward to meeting people and reading the threads on this forum,

Cheers guys! :)

Hello Frankie. Welcome to the forum. You will find wonderful people in this forum. How are you doing? Are you in remission? Taking any meds?

Hi both,

I'm currently on 4g of pentasa a day but most of the time take 2g (4 x 500mg tabs) as it hurts to pass urine when taking 4g

Yes Dave, it is a different sort of career choice, it can be difficult as I can be on the course in competition for 5 hours without chance of a toilet break! Walking does help though and I'd offer that advice to anyone who is feeling down in the dumps with crohns.
