I've been taking Humira since September, every other week. Added 25 mg Methotrexate once a week in January, which I stopped in April. 2 weeks ago did 2 Humira shots and started doing it weekly, and also started Methotrexate up, but only at 7.5 mg once a week.

I do my shots on Tuesdays, and Thursday I noticed some red spots on my stomach in the shower, but I'm really blind without my glasses so meant to look at it with them on, but forgot until Friday. Basically I have one spot (looks right at the injection site) that is red, and about an inch away have a circle of red spots that is about 1 inch in diameter. The spots haven't spread any, but they are looking maybe a tiny bit bigger, and starting to look pus filled or something... They don't really itch, but they do itch every once in a while, but it is nothing like chicken pox or anything (had those twice lol).

Since it's right by the injection site, I'm thinking maybe it's an allergic reaction? But not sure since I've been using Humira for so long and never had anything like this before... Any ideas? Probably gonna go to the doctor soon to get it looked at though, just wondering what you all think!

I noticed a few spots on my side/back, so it looks like it's spreading :( But after doing some research online, I think I am getting shingles. The pictures look almost identical. However, I have no other symptoms really. No pain, flu-like symptoms, hardly any itching. Basically just the rash. But then again I had the chicken pox once, but a relatively small number of itchy spots. Got it again and had spots everywhere, including places they normally don't appear, and they didn't itch either. Thanks Crohn's and crazy drugs! Looks like I'll be calling off work and going to the doctor for sure tomorrow!

That's the best idea - going to the dr. I've heard with shingles the earlier the treatment the better. Hope it's something simple & not painful.

Since you have previously been on Remicade it could be an allergic reaction to the Humira. Best see your/a doctor about it.

Went to the er last night just to be safe (also doctors office closed for the holiday) and the doctor immediately said shingles. Too late in its path for meds to really help, but due to my Crohn's and taking humira, methotrexate, and prednisone currently, he said to take the meds anyways and make sure to come back if it spreads, gets worse, I start feeling bad in general, or get a fever. So far still the same. Luckily I have very minimal pain and itching so it looks like it won't end up too bad!

I have something similar that I have had since October, it has gone and come back in many areas and drs seem to think so far that i'm allergic to my humira.. and again this is after taking the humira with no problems for 10 mos.. and no reaction near the injection site just all over my body except my face.

Shingles will only affect one side of your body, usually your trunk. It is also self-limiting, even without treatment, shingles goes away in a few weeks.

Strange that people react so long after starting the drug. I hope it isn't that. :(
