reocuring abdominal abcess!!!!!

hi to all here im new on this site ...i have searched the posts but cant find any directly relating to my condition ..i have suffered scince1981 and had 3 major ops but this time in sept 2008 i had developed an abcess in the scar on my stomach and since then i have developed 2 fisculas and 2 absecc,s that exit through my stomach and scar site. i have had to get one drained with a tube but the others are bursting through my skin ....the last one burst 4 days ago and came from nothing to the size of an orange then burst in about 24hrs is there anyone else out there with this as its been going on for 5 months now and no sighns of clearing up????im on and off antibiotics azathioprine and preds but they still keep cooming hope yuo guys can enlighten me ...thanks to all

I do not have an abdominal abcess myself, but another friend with Crohns had one, they were put on Remicade and are doing very well.

Do you think the abcesses may be caused by a leak in your intestines?? I had this happen to me a year ago. My intestine had a tiny leak which caused this recurring abcess. I'd take antiobiotics and it would clear up - but then once I stopped them it would start up again. I ended up seeing a naturopath which totally cleared up the leak. BUT - I found out later that the leak was actually a GOOD thing because it was allowing fluid to go out whenever I had a blockage. After the naturopath fixed me up I couldn't release anything anymore and I ended up perforating my intestine because of the backup. Not cool.

ANyways - if you think it might be due to a leak from your intestines - you could look at some natural supplements to help heal.

I had a possible fistulah years ago, Asacol was given to me that helped. then I went from eating only rice and chicken ( no sugar,no rufage no this no that ) to slowly introducing foods. Eventually i got better. then things got worse and now they are bad. Interesting fact though that the medications that the doctors perscribe for Crohn's do not always work for me, I usually try to adjust my diet to what am i craving? I am on a new med and not sure im doing well myself. Just wanted to let you know that these fistulas can go and scar tissue can cause constriction or blockages. The more surgeries the more scar tissue, I have tons. I just try to think it away . Obviously I am now thinking about it a lot otherwise i would not be posting. I do believe that the body heals itself. Yes I have taken many meds but I truly believe in the healing power of the mind.
