Results of Colonoscopy

Hi have had my first colonoscopy today which was not as bad as I thought it would be the prep was the worst part, although after taking the first lot of prep within 20 min I was on the loo and stayed there most of the night! got up at 6am this morning and took the second lot and again within 20min on the loo!

Had the scope and the doctor has said that I have inflamtion and erythema in the rectum and in the caecum. He took biopses from here and also from ileo colonic? this is all new to me can any of you shed any light on this. I have had some bleeding from the biopses but I was told to expect this. The results are going to be sent to my surgeon and I will have the full results in two weeks. The surgeon asked for this scope as when he operated in June said my bowel showed clear signs of IBD. He has mentioned Crohns and UC I am not really clear what these finding mean. I would appreciate your views please.

Glad it went well and you got through the prep. I always have a hard time with the prep. The actual procedure is nice, especially getting knocked out. Always wake up feeling refreshed and having had crazy dreams.

Hi peaches, I posted my first post in IBD and then have posted for advice in support forum. I have no firm diagnosis I was told I have IBD but they wanted the scope to see where it was. They have said its in the rectum and Caecum? looking forward to seeing surgeon in two weeks time!
