In a 16-week study of rifaximin, 78 percent of the patients with Crohn’s disease experienced an improvement in their disease, and 59 percent went into remission.

Rifaximin may help Crohn's Disease patients who haven't responded to medications

A small, open-label study conducted by physicians at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center suggests that there may be a new application for the novel antibiotic rifaximin in treating patients who suffer from severe Crohn's Disease and who have not responded to all other available medications for the disease.

I looked it up in my pharmacology book. It states that rifaximin (Xifaxan) is an analog of rifampin. It is used to treat traveler's diarrhea, more effective than meds like Cipro... (Rifampin is a tuberculosis med)
