For the past few weeks I have been having a stabbing pain on the right lower side of my abdomen along with fatigue and some joint pain. I've also been a bit constipated. I don't know if this is a flare or not. Plus if I call mr Dr he will only want me to be on pred which I HATE! It's not consuming my daily routine so should I just wait and see?

That can be a sign. I know it is with my DD.

The GI should still know because he/she might want to tweak your dose or do something else if it's a on-coming flare.

I don't blame you for not wanting pred.
:( My girl is starting a flare and I so don't want her on pred AGAIN.
Do you know what a crazy 4 yr old is like on pred.:lol:

It sounds like you might be starting to flare. Especially if you're having pain, constipation and fatigue. Know what you're talking about not wanting to be put on prednisone. If it's not keeping you from doing your everyday stuff, I'd sure watch it. If it starts messing with what your everyday chores, I wouldn't hesitate going and getting checked out. Please keep us updated. Take care.

Thank you Cross Stitch Gal I will keep an eye on it...I just hate pred it makes me nuts and Im already nuts lol :)

I'd probably give them a call and maybe make an appointment. Better to catch it early and nip it in the bud and perhaps avoid the pred!

My guess is your ileum is flared on the joint connecting to your colon, very common spot to be attacked from crohns, and if your constepated then passing through this is probably not helpin and this is what may be causing you a lot of pain

I don't blame you for not wanting to be on prednisone. When I was on it, it made me puffy and gave me osteoporosis. Best to you.

I'm in the same boat, sometime the pain gets worst for me (happen more frequently and more painful) but at times I'm pretty normal (no pain) and then once in a while I get those pain attacks. It's getting worst for me recently though, and I'm trying to get it checked. I personally hate prednisone since my last experience I had it, it didn't help me at all, after the dose, I have to return to the hospital 2 times (on and off) and end up getting surgery to remove that inflamattion. So I think yours could be a mild flare, which can get better (like mine before) but it is gets worst, definitely go get it checked

I have a constant dull ache, more tender on the right. After I eat I get a swollen feeling along my mid section. I've been taking two Levisin pills twice a day. It helps but the dull ache always returns.

I think we have to get used to these feelings. Since I have not been in remission yet I do not know if these symptoms ever go away :(

I am pretty much chronically constipated, and have a pretty constant pain in my RLQ. My terminal ileum is where I was diagnosed originally, years ago. As far as the joint pain and the fatigue, those can be signs of a flare. The constipation could be a cause of the pain as it moves through the irritated area. if the pain gets a lot worse, then you should get it checked out to be sure you don't have some inflammation or an obstruction. Sometimes I can get mine to calm down by adhering very tightly to a low residue diet.
