Recently had an illeocecal resection and was hospitalized twice after. Got several blood clots feeding into my portal vein, my adrenal glands stopped working, so was not producing cortisol at all and crohns returned and began atacking new surgery site within 2 weeks!!! Anyone else have any if these issues? Or is this just horrible bad luck. It's been a big scary nightmare. Now on high dose steroids and blood thinners and no meds left for me except Stelara.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. People with Crohn's have a higher incidence of DVT's for some reason. Five years ago, I almost died of pulmonary embolisms, and I'm on blood thinners now for life. I also have osteopenia from Prednisone, and peripheral neuropathy from Flagyl. Crohn's, the gift that just keeps on giving. Hang in there. :ghug:

I'm sorry to read of your issues. I would say they must certainly be rare complications as I have never heard of this happening before. What is your treatment plan?
Was hispitalized and put on IV steroids and blood thinners. Continue to do blood thinners and oral steroids at home now.

I had problems with my kidneys after my resection in August, but no problems with blood. Sorry you're having such a rough time.
