Hello all,
I'm just in the process of getting a second opinion on my just newly discovered Crohns. I've been having a horrible time with constant pain and no respite in sight. I just got out of frightening week in hospital. The docs there say I need to go for a double-balloon endoscopy to check my jujenum. I'd like get a second opinion on that.

My docs in the hospital don't always agree on what is going on and what to do next. Someone a little more heavyweight might cut through the noise.

I'm looking at Dr. Ailsa Hart at St. Mark's who seems to be quite a leading figure for IBD. Has anyone else been referred to her. What is she like as a consultant?

To be honest, if you get a referal to St Marks, then any of the consulting staff are top notch. I have been a patient at St Marks for 25 years and cannot fault them.

I am under Aisla Hart, my local gastro referred me to her for her opinion. She is brilliant but then all the docs there. She listens to what you say and is very knowledgeable. I saw her again 2 weeks ago in fact, and I was in with her and another consultant for 2.5 hours in outpatients! Not bad for the NHS.
