Was diagnosed with Crohns a year ago, but what brought me to the dcotors before my symptons realy kicked in was complete lack or energy and feeling so weak. They ran blood tests and my iron was seriously low, so they put me on iron talets and after a month or so I felt slightly energised. When I had to go back because of the diarrohea and vommitting they found out I had crohns, I was put on pred and my iron has stopped since then.

Ive been feeling like that for aslong as I can remember, I actually forget what it feels like to feel energetic and alive. Im currently on HUMIRA and Azathriopine, most importantly my symptons are under control. Im slowly getting my weight back upto where it should be, I lost nearly 3 stone at the height of my symptons.

I had bloods tested and came back normal, Im on multi vitamins on the my dietticans advise, Ive been on them for nearly 6 weeks. Havent noticed a change.

Im only 23, I appreciate the fact I have an illness but this lack of energy is killing me. I work 40 hours a week, its a struggle every day. If I sit down for long enough I literally cant keep my eyes open. Even at my last doctors appointment I near fell asleep in the waiting room.

My diet is farily healthy and I try to live an active life, I play football a couple of times a week. But this is whats killing me, I played for a football team for 3 years, trained twice a week and one match on a Saturday, ever since I wasnt well I stopped. The new season trainging has started and the thought of all that running made me tired, I just wouldnt be able to do it. I really wanna get back at it. Its what hurts the most I cant do what I really love doing, its my hobby! :(

Does anyone feel/been through the same?
Anyone have any tips or advice? any food/drinks that would boost my energy?

Doctors are as good as they can be giving advise but until you have it you dont know how it truely works.

Hello! I am in the same exact boat as you. My energy is at its lowest its hard to even sit down and read stuff on the computer sometimes because I'mjust so out of it. Mornings are the hardest part of my day. I was also taking Humira and Azathriopine, but it was making me break out so bad EVERYWHERE and so I'm off of that and trying to see if I can find a natural solution. Idk how long I will be able to do without the Humira but I'm gonna try to hang in there.

Some very important nutritional supplements:
VITAMIN D
OMEGA 3
OPC-3
ALOE VERA
PROBIOTICS

But consult with a nutritionist or doctor before, better thats its a nutritionist to get the right brand of supplments. Bc if you dont get like the right capsules and right brand you will just be waisting your time. I can suggest some if you would like... :)

Also some books to read...

"The autoimmune epidemic" by Donna Jackson Nakazawa
"The Inside Tract" by Dr. Gerard Mullin

I think Crohns in general is just an energy drainer, not to mention the medications. I'm your age, well just turned 24, and my lack of energy is frightening. I am/ was a marathon runner and lately I've felt that even a mile is hard. The biggest thing for me has been listening to my body, and sleeping resting when I can. I am so much more productive, even if I need 11 hours of sleep a night. I also found that while I'm not vitamin b deficient, that taking a b(specifically b12) supplement has helped me a lot. I've been anemic here and there, and that with the supplement, and increasing iron/protein consumption that I'm feeling better. It's hard finding out what works, but got to just try and see what does for you.

I'd do full blood work and check your thyroid to. Both can be insight to severe fatigue. If neither brings up anything it's probably the disease or side effects of meds.
