I have got used to having CD mostly in remission since 2007 but every so often something else crops up. The latest is a nasty viral chest infection. I am on Mesalazine, lansaprazole and colesevalem so none of the newer drugs. However over the years I have developed episcleritis (prednisole drops twice so far), anal fissures (gnt, creams, salt baths), a fistula needing a Seton, and some surgical repair to my major surgery back in 97 (to remove part of my small intestine and caecum) (but now have large unsightly hernia). So getting a chest infection seems minor but that gives you a painful hacking cough (treated by amoxycillin) that gives you diaorreah (treated with Colesevalem) and it just seems unfair! Cough you go, air/mucus comes out tail end at 90mph, fissure tears more, tail end hurts, chest hurts even more, it seems relentless. I am too tired to cook but need gluten free, lactose free diet so I need to cook as "instant food" is deadly (diet seems to have stopped me getting attacks that end up in A&E that always resulted in nothing found - the diet is called FODMAP) and yes I AM fed up. Sorry, vent over. Anyway back to unrelated stuff.
Question - does anyone else get peripheral neuropathy? Started about 5 years ago, burning/pins and needles across lower groin/abdomen, cold patches on thighs, very sensitive so cannot wear close fitting clothes (M&S no vpl pants only), which can be a problem if you have diaorreah! Treatment with pregabalin not very effective.

I agree about the "unrelated stuff"! Like you, I am largely in remission, other than when a course of antibiotics stirs up the colon!!
I posted in the EIM section just recently about atypical skin issues - mine are lower leg, shin area, but sound a lot like yours in terms of hypersensitivity to various fabrics(I keep buying different sorts of socks/stockings, trying to find something comfortable. I have also had iritis, which follows the pattern of the bowel; and costochondritis, sacroiliitis and funny intermittent blistery lesions which have an entirely independent incidence and course.
I'm fairly certain they're "Crohn's related", but they don't fit the usual descriptions. Hope you're feeling better soon:)
