Has anyone else had success with Slippery Elm? My chiropractor told me to take it and I picked some up at Sprouts. It's an OTC supplement that has been used by native americans for centuries. My guts are so much happier! I still have issues of course, but it has definitely had a soothing effect. I just found here that it's indicated for Crohn's Disease so maybe I'm the only person who didn't know about it but I wanted to post here in case others hadn't. I'd love feedback from others as well!

I am familiar with the herb as I tried it a long time ago for a different condition. I know its a mucilage and that property is its primary medicinal action. I also recall it has similar nutritional value as oatmeal and was used to feed the bed ridden and infants in the early 1900's. Its wonderful that you have found something that seems to help. I may try it myself, after I get a little better. I don't think there are any bad side effects to be worried about other than if you may be allergic to it.
