hey im just curious if theres anyone here who smokes with theyre crohns and also if it has any reaction to your crohns please let me know thanks :)

I smoke and I was advised to stop before the doctor will even consider putting me on any serious meds. I was recently diagnosed, so I can't really tell you how severe the side effects are just yet.

same here its been 7-8 months ago that ive been diagnosed , im not sure if everyone crohns disease is different or if some people can have a mild case or a sever one , but ever since ive been diagnosed ive been pretty much doing whatever i wanted , nothing changed and i never really felt anything different ive even stopped taking my pentasa that my doctor prescribed , now recently after 7-8 months that ive been diagnosed i feel something in my right abdomen but its not a severe pain its more of a tingle then a pain its been going on for a week now and i drank a lot on saturday and woke up and got sharp pain in my abdomen .. thats the only time it hurt so i decided to quit smoking and drinking cause i remember my doc saying nicotene aggrovates mthe crohns

I smoke and yes I think it makes the crohns worse.....especially if I am in a flare. Nicotine is a stimulant. My GI also says that smoking keeps cells from healing....some surgeons wont perform any plastic or cosmetic if you smoke because it delays healing.
