Hey guys, a quick question. I was thinking of starting the special K diet and was wondering if any of you had tried it, had any success or horror stories? Any ideas on it? It's kinda a new thing for me to be going on a diet but I need some more motivation to eat better. It introduces alot of protein shakes, bars and cereals into my day to day meals. it also calls for alot of water and fruit throughout the day.

Any thoughts???:sign0085:

Thanks!!

K

Look at the ingredients and as long as you can tolerate it, do whatever you feel works for you. Not all of us are affected the same way. You may find digestive enzymes will help you, as well as probiotics. Feel better!

I find it hard on my stomach, I think its also quite high in sugar. Personally I think its a gimmick to get u to buy more of their product and that there's better diets out there

I have to say I agree. Personally I have trouble w/ protein bars.

I know this is a broad question but is there a diet out there that you guys might recommend? Obvi I know that fruits , veggies, lots of water, low grease and low fat options are smart. What about incorporating probiotics? where do I get them?

Thanks you guyS!

Probiotics can come in your yoghurt or you can get them at the drug store. Ask your druggist. I love special k but the bars never...to dense for me. As mentioned digestive enzymes can help. My cereal of choice is Life or cooked larged flaked oatmeal. I use stevia for my cereal and rice milk. I love cheerios to but the sodium is very high. Trial and error with foods and diet, we are all different no matter what you hear. Low Residue diet for everyday, BRAT diet for diahreah and pain.

:welcome: to the forum, lots of info for you here from great people!

The cereal sits OK with me, but not the shakes-probably the sugar. The ice tea flavored powder added to water is good. I personally would swap the Special K shakes with whey protein, my tummy likes it much better, plus it builds up your strength.

A friend of mine likes the Andrew Lessman weight loss shakes from Home Shopping Network; she says she stays full longer and the soy protein is great. Hope this helps!:thumright:

thanks so much for the info you guys! I'll try a lot of different things and see what's a good and whats a NO. Thanks!!
K
