As far as the infusion goes, it is not so bad. Ryan didn't mind missing school to sit all day, watch movies, sleep and eat...Didn't love the IV, but I know our kiddos get used to it all. I hope it works wonders!

Good luck
Ds loved the "day off" as well.
It did take a while ( more than three infusions ) for him to feel better.

Good luck and lots of wishes this is his ticket. It works for lots of the kiddo's. If not at first there are lots of tweaking tricks they can use. Be patient and work it! Hope he didn't mind the infusion. My daughter rather likes all the down time and attention.

Hope all goes well! Even at 18, my son also enjoys the day off! ;) I hope it works wonders for him!! :)

Sending loads of luck and well wishes your way james's mum! I hope all goes brilliantly and Remicade is your miracle drug!

:goodluck:

No experience with Remi but everyone sounds positive about it. Hope it went well and soon has James up and running!

PS-I like your quote, "you beat this disease, it doesn't beat you"!!:)

Hi, first off thanks for all your support messages. James had infusion on Tuesday and all seemed to go well. Not feeling the greatest the next day but was back to school yesterday. He says he can't really feel any changes as yet but maybe his mouth (with all the ulcers and swelling) might feel a little better. Here is hoping. Another one in 2 weeks.
Again thanks for all the messages and will update again soon.

Good luck with it.. My son has been on it for roughly 2+ years. It also took him about 3 infusions to start feeling the affects from it.

Remicade combined with a weekly shot of Methotrexate has been the only thing that put my son into remission. It's been about a year now and this has been the best year of his life.

I hope the same for your son! :)

Good luck, my son (14) has just had his 4th infusion. He also enjoys a day off, being able to watch lots of telly!! Will be honest, he has improved, gained weight, grown slightly, but for some reason this last infusion, which has been an 8 week gap, he has felt rotten afterwards, been 10 days, and its like we have gone backwards! We have been told to expect it to take 6 months to kick in fully, but we are remaining positive, possibly a bug picked up, not sure currently.

Fingers crossed for you and as many have said it does give fab results and every child is different and reacts differently, they are tweeks that can be done x
