I hadn't had any beer in over thirty years. The day of New Year's Eve, I had a little sample at the grocery store. I didn't stop to think that it had gluten in it until after the fact. Could it still be aggravating my gut after this much time?

Hello. I am brand new here. Looks like you an an old hand. Or should that be less of the old! Even a little bit of gluten sets me off. I avoided beer for five years. Had one without thinking much the same as you, and it seriously upset me.

I've heard of that before. Small amounts of gluten still being a problem after years of avoidance.

I'd not had wheat gluten for a long time till this New Years eve party. I didn't eat much bread but had a small bite. Everything on display looked to delicious to pass up. Thankfully the wheat cookie sampling wasn't a problem for me later on.

It usually takes me 5 days to feel normal again after being glutened. I just feel foggy, crampy and awful for days. For me, I know this is how it works, it all depends on your digestion.

some brands of wheat bother me while some are fine. not sure about gluten alone though as an additive. Another thing that it could be is the glyposate levels in wheat and not the gluten, it's a controversial herbicide.
