Stool tests

hi everyone. I have to do 3 stool tests, culture, ova & parasites and c-diff. Does the stool have to be runny or could it be normal. Also for women, is it okay to do test while having periods.

I think they just need a small amount of what ever output you have at the moment, firm runny or otherwise.
I would think it is ok to do it as long as you are careful to avoid letting any blood mix with the stool as this could skew the results.

Good luck - I had to do one yesterday it is never a fun process.

thanks, yes i just got so upset today. I just hate this disease, i have to these tests and waiting for date for a colonoscopy, gastropy and barium enema. To make it worse i live 1 hr from where the lab is. Now i got to go 3 days into town.
