Hi everyone,

Currently in the hospital for abdominal pain in the lower right and upper right area of my abs. They did an MRE and CT scan and found a Fistula in my small intestine that bridge off to possible large intestine and another part of my small intestine. The doctor are going to perform the surgery for me in the morning. I was wondering will the Fistula come back even after surgery? This thing has been the worst nightmare for me in the pass couple months. The pain was unreal it feel like a blockage cause I couldn't do anything!

Thank you:eek2:

Both of my kids have had fistula’s and abscesses in the small bowel (terminal ileum) that required surgery to remove them.

For them surgery put them straight into remission and they have been on Imuran as a maintenance medication ever since.

Both have stayed in remission, nearly 8 years and 3 years respectively, so for them there has been no repeat of fistula’s.

Sending you loads of luck for your surgery and a speedy recovery, and I hope you have the same positive outcome that my kids have! :goodluck:
