Had a phone call from surgical admissions & someone has pulled out & I'm in. Laproscopic stricture plasty or something else where they cut the stricture out & then slit the two ends & join together in what would like like a n shape, albeit with the sides of the n joined together. I'm looking forward to getting this over with & two weeks later get back on Humira & hopefully everything crossed that'll be me finally sorted out.

I'll be going under the knife that same day too..! I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery!

Good luck, it's always good to hear of something going well!! It'll work out :) lots of people find surgery is really successful, I'm sure yours will too! All the best!

I wish you guys the best possible outcomes and quick and full recoveries. I'll be thinking of you and sending positive healing thoughts your direction.

Tks again one & all. Feeling quite positive about this one tbh. The Humira has done a great job except for this one little stricture.
I'm hoping this is "the one" that will finally sort me out.

Wishing you both a very successful surgery.

And yes, that this is "the one" that gives you great health and wellness.

Will be thinking about you...

Will do Manzyb, I'm off to hospital in about 30mins, doubtful I'll be back on line until saturday, the internet in the hospital is via the TV thing we have to pay for & its awful & soooo slow.
Tks for the wishes
Take care

I'm back home! :O I'm surprise how quickly that was I mean... how can I be on tylenol 4 days after such a surgery seems pretty amazing to me... Anyway! Point is, I recovered quickly and well... if it is from the lite fever I'm running that comes from we don't know what... they judge it was ok to send me home so I assume they are ok! Thank you all for the wishes and good thoughts!
Grant, I hope your recovery is going good too, still sending you good vibrations!

Tks all. Just got home an hour ago, some agonizing moments sadly. The Epidural pump broke down & it took an age to sort out, then when they switched off the epidural on sunday I had to wait for 3 3/4 hrs before they could get a morphine PCA going. They tried using paracetamol & tramadol intravenously but the pain was too intense.
However its done, officially a Laproscopic IleoColiac Resection done like the shape of a n but with the sides joined, but they had to cut me by about 4-5" because of the adhesions. I'm just grateful that I'm home & its over.
Well done PyschoJane, pleased its gone well for you too.
Keep well everyone

I'm so glad you are out and home Grant. Awful with the pain management, or lack thereof! :(

Onwards and upwards now with healing up.

well you can now say it is all behind you and have recovery to look forward to! all the best with it and well done :)

Glad to hear you are both doing well! I had a problem with pain management after my resection too. I wish I would have gotten an epidural, but didn't get the choice. The pain those first few days is awful!

now, on the road to recovery for both of you!!! let us know how you are doing.

Ahhhh Welll I've been fairly lucky but now I'm dealing with abcess and draining and what not... it's awesome. Things can't be just perfect it seems. There had to be something behind everything going too well! But it is still nothing too serious.. I'll be fixed soon enough, that's what I want, that's what I'll get!

Tks again everyone. I phoned my specialist nurse yesterday with ref. to restarting Humira. Sadly a non starter ATM as my bloods are far too low, there was even talk whilst I was in of giving me some blood-yikes. I've got to have a blood test in two weeks time then go & see my Gastro specialist so he can make an informed opinion on meds & the way forward for me.
My appetite is coming back & I've sampled some salad again for the 1st time in 2 years-lovely. Had a wound check done yesterday & the nurse is very happy with my scars so had my 1st proper bath today for 10 days, that was really nice.
Keep well everyone
Grant
