Make sure you have you have personal stuff like sleepwear and anything that will make you comfortable. Bring stuff to keep you occupied like books or an iPad or any hobbies you enjoy that you could enjoy in bed If they are going to do a resection , they will try to get you up and moving the next day. Try to walk as much as possible. Good luck.

Hi actiplay,

I agree with Ron, comfortable clothes and things to keep you occupied are great at helping pass the time.

Don't forget a good pair of anti-slip sandals for the showers and hospital floors. They are questionable at best.

Best of luck to you,

cmack

depending on the type of surgery, u may not be able to put on your own clothing. in the states, hospitals supply gowns and slippers. the gown are to allow access for the docs to check you out. everyday u should get a new gown to wear and slipper, tooth paste soap.. u might be immobile for a few days. if yur there long term your clothing will need to washed.. hopefully its a short stay. you didnt mention type of surgery.. i was hospitalized 26 days. the gown was what i wore due to leaks, blood, access, etc. reading materials will keep u sane..find out what the hospital supplies you with, then act upon that. good luck.
