This article is about the human genome and the position of the US gov on if parts of it can be patented or not. Seems some in the gov don't think our genes should be patented. I agree.

Thanks for posting lynx.

I think the genes themselves should not be able to patented as the are naturally occuring. When it comes to manipulating or modifying genes then I don't see an issue with patent.

I remember seeing something about this on 60 Minutes a few months back.

I pretty much agree with Dusty. If they had it set up so patents wouldn't, in any way, interfere with patient care or slow down medical progress, I'd be more open to it.
