Yes, after a crohns dx. I have had intermediate problems with my thyroid being over active. I think its a "just in case test", in case something like that is going on.
 
My gut has been sick for over 20 years. I have been seeing an Endocrinologist for 15 years. I have hypothyroidism and I started taking the medication Levothyroxine a couple of years ago. I also have thyroid nodules. I see my Endocrinologist every six months for a blood draw and an ultrasound of my thyroid nodules. I have no idea if having an IBD affects the thyroid. If my PCP does blood draw it is just the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel and that does not include a THS level check.
