Since I always seem to be moaning about something I thought I would post something more positive. Andrew (touch wood, hold thumbs, etc) is doing ok apart from a little tiredness. We had a BBQ today with family (we are having a mini heatwave in Scotland) and Andrew was playing cricket in the back garden with us. It was nice to see him out and about playing something he enjoys. He didn't run much - just bowling and batting, but it felt "almost normal". :thumleft:

Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
I hope you have many more great days to come.:emot-waycool:

That is fab Sascot! :):):)

If nothing else this disease surely makes you appreciate just how wonderful normal truly is!

So wonderful to hear about the good days also (although admittedly we all need to share our not-so-good days as well ;))...may there be more to come! :ghug:

I am so glad he had you have had a good day. I love when we have days like that Its always so great to see them playing and doing things that you know they love so much.

I totally hate that Ko broke his wrist so I dont want this to come out wrong. But it was so great to see him out playing and having fun that night even if it ended with a broken wrist. It made him see that there are going to be days that he does feel better. They are not all bad.

Enjoy your day you both deserve it

So excited to hear this! We all have to celebrate the small things in life... I think it is what gives us hope for our kids future! Glad you had a great day! It put a smile on my face!

Hi there,
Jings, I'm just 15 mins along the road from you!! :ycool:
Just wondered what surgeon and GI Dr you see...I am assuming you go to Yorkhill. We have had similar issues with abscesses and are awaiting a decision tomorrow on the next step.
We saw Dr Richard Russell on Monday. Have seen 2 surgeons in the past - O'Toole and I can't remeber the first.
I also think their delays in draining because the abscess hadn't "come to a head" sufficiently has resulted in the abscess growing :ymad:
Just read all your posts to see what the normal approach for treatment is in Scotland. Interesting read!
Will put an update on when I hear what is happening.

Had never heard of Banton, but yes it is quite close. We have been to Yorkhill a few times mainly dealing with the abcess and fistula as the rest of our care they try to provide at Larbert. It is Dr Russell we see as well. He seems ok. My son's abcess was left for 3 months (well treated by antibiotics that didn't work) so it was alot worse than the surgeon thought. It is Mr Walker who is our surgeon - I like him alot.

We are pretty similar then. Zac has been left for 2 months this time and the clock is still ticking.
Going to be admitted to Yorkhill on the 21st to prep for theatre 22nd With Dr Russell and Mr Walker!!
They plan to do colonoscopy and hope to do some sort of surgery if they can (they think he may have a deeper abscess feeding the peri-anal abscess via fistula(s))
Although dreading the procedure and picolax, looking forward to a deinitive diagnosis!!
