Has anyone heard of or taking immune modulator IV therapy with remicade for crohns. I am starting it in the morning just wanted to know what to expect. Did it work well for you with crohns.

Immunomodulators are azathioprine, its metabolite 6-mercaptopurine, and methotrexate. I haven't heard of an IV one. I took azathioprine in pill form and Remicade in infusions. The combination has kept me in remission for 2 1/2 years. I'm now off azathioprine because of constantly cathcing infections. Good luck and I hope it helps.

Thanks Tuff my nurse called me today and it's new, but in clinical trials showed great success rates. I just hope it helps. Your friend 4ever.

I have been on azathioprine for years. I am sorry, 4ever. I did not know that azathioprine was an immunomodulator.

Your alright buddy this type of immune modulator works in conjunction with remicade, it's really new just barely out of clinical trials, but had great success with patients with crohns. So really in my little home town I'm going to be the first to get it..
