Hi

I have very mild crohns, I do not experience pain or really any of the other major side affects. The only real sign that I have crohns is my bowel movements, which annoying as they can be sometimes....i consider pretty mild compared to the pain and other symptoms that moderate or severe crohns patients may experience. Basiclly I'm looking for input on what treatment options are for such a mild case of crohns, any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! Oh, i should also mention that it does not matter what i eat.....nothing "upsets" my stomach....all the experiements i have done with diet changes all turned out the same....no matter what i eat my bowel movements don't improve or change at all....
so just looking for suggestions, ideas, medications that are maybe more geared towards mild crohns...as i know some treatment options are specifically designed for heavy duty use.
also i should mention that i was prescribed mesasaline, mesasal whatever name you know it by...that particular med did not agree with me, i ended up getting pancreatitus from it, and obviously stopped taking that med.

Mine is very mild too, they are just treating the inflamation with entocort (budesonide) I have a 6 week tapering course. Currently on my second course this year, my GI is considering starting me on Pentasa in the near future.

Actually, Racheld, I just looked up pentesa, and it is either a form of or similar to the mesasal that i was taking....which gave me pancreatitus lol! But hopefully it works out well for you! Guess I just had to be the one in a million that experienced a random negative side affect

I would say, on the pharma scene, give LDN a go. Additionally, I would suggest--from personally mild Crohn's experience--probiotics (3 caps on empty stomach, twice a day, of Jarrow EPS, or Primal Defense Ultra; or 4 drops twice a day of Living Streams liquid probiotics) and enteric coated fish oil (2 caps, twice a day, of Source Naturals Ultra Potency Fish Oil). Find a large vitamin or herbal online mega-store for good prices.

I am not a doctor and am not qualified in any way, nor would I ever want to be, to give you any advice concerning medications. Run these suggestions by your doc, as "mild" crohn's isn't very descriptive.
