Hi Ron,

I have never heard of it causing that before. I suppose it depends if it agrees with your system. I think if you ate them all day it may not be too good. Kind of like when we were kids and ate too much candy at Christmas or Easter and got a belly ache. I doubt it is too bad in moderation. I would avoid high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient though as it it likely full of glyphosate.

A lot of candy these days are made with high fructose corn syrup. My body doesn't like it at all. Read the label. Sugar probably isn't a great idea either. When I crave something sweet, pastry is a safer choice.

Some candies, doesn't matter if it is hard candy or chocolates, will upset my intestines pretty quickly; peppermint is actually the worst for me. Today one little snack sized kit kat bar immediately had myintestines rolling - within minutes of eating it. I think it all depends on what your system can tolerate.

Wait.....what? glyphosates? A pesticide? (I had to google that) Why in heavens name would a candy have this toxic ingredient? Ugggh, is there anything out there that is safe to eat any more?!

Yeah they use a lot of GMO corn for high fructose corn syrup. All the crops are resistant and they spray the whole field with gylphosate. The weeds die and the corn lives, unfortunately the corn absorbs the herbicide as well it just doesn't die. So that's how it happens. Glyphosate just happens to be an antibiotic that when ingested in sufficient levels and repetitively, can kill off our gut flora. They do similar things with all the GMO foods. Very sad. I use it (very sparingly) to kill weeds and it states clearly on the bottle it is not to be ingested. It defies logic to use it on anything that you will eat or drink. My doctor explained it to me and I was baffled. I never understood why GMO's were so bad.
