Hi everyone,
I had my colonoscopy yesterday. Doc said no Crohn's. He took 8 biopsies. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling too well last night. I will get the biopsy results in 2 weeks. The procedure was fine. The nurses could not have been nicer. Very friendly and attentive. The Propofol worked immediately. One minute I was talking and the next I was in recovery. He did put in the report, which was given to me before I left, that it's colitis. To anyone getting their first colonoscopy, please don't be anxious. It isn't bad at all. The prep wasn't bad either. Four Ducolax and a bottle of Miralax mixed in Gatorade. I'll post the biopsy results when I get them. Thanks for reading.

Hi Regina,

Thank you for the update on your story. I'm glad the colonoscopy went well!

You may want to check out our new Undiagnosed Club which may be of benefit to you :)

I wish you all the best. Do keep up updated!

Thanks for the update, Regina. I am glad prep and the procedure were easy.

Can you remind me of your symptoms? Did you GI give you any insight as to what could be the cause if not IBD?

Hi Regina

I'm so glad that the colonoscopy went well and that the staff treated you well. Sometimes, half the battle with medical stuff is to be treated well and with dignity, I find.

Along with the Undiagnosed Club that David mentioned above, there is also an Ulcerative Colitis section that you might want to check out.

Hope the biopsy results are favourable for you.

Regards,

Kismet

Jill, 2 times in 11 months I had flu like symptoms. Fever, chills, diarrhea and achy body. My former gastro doc ordered a ct and blood work. She said she was 90% sure it was Crohn's. After 25 yrs. with her, I felt her office dropped the ball with me. You can read about it in my original post. Anyway, I made an appointment with my present gastro doc. Had scope. He said no Crohn's but took 8 biopsies and saw colitis. He saw minimal diverticulosis, too. Hope this helps answer your question. Thanks to everyone for your concern. I will go to the other sites suggested.
Regina
