Firstly, i finally have a colonoscopy appointmet (i know i did have one but i couldnt attend it because it was to close to my holiday) so yes i have a preop for it on monday the 18th so they will probably give me the bowel prep then (which im dreading) and then the colonoscopy is on the 29th at a private hospital because the hospital i was going to was running late and they get fined if they are late.

How is the bowel prep?

I've found not eating is the worst bit.:frown:

The prep is not exactly pleasant, but not so bad really. You take the stuff and then a bit later you have lots of diarrhoea, followed by more diarrhoea and then finally some diarrhoea. And then you take the second dose and repeat.

So don't stray too far from a toilet. And be sure to drink lots.

I would like to add,moist wipes and a barrier or nappy cream.You'll be glad you did !!!

My experience was that I started my prep at 5pm after a near starvation 24hrs,and I was still going to the bathroom at 6am the next day.I also needed to go literally minutes before my scope.But it's only one day and it will soon pass.If you are offered sedation,accept.You will be very relaxed and you will need a lift home.
