Upper GI Surgery thing

I had GP appt other day, told him everything to do with Acid Reflux.
Well he mention surgery thing, my eyes sort glaze over but information I think heard it right is:

Wake to point but won't be able to move.
Flex tube or something like it, insert into top bit of stmach to have look that acid in here.
Then push toward throat area.

All this happened on 29th march not sure in new med and old is going worked that long.
 
Do you know if it's an upper endoscopy or an actual surgery?

I had an upper endoscopy to diagnose the reason for my acid reflux. I have a hiatal hernia, where the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm, so that the sphincter between my esophagus and stomach never closes all the way. The endoscopy is no big deal. Basically no preparations for it and you have no memory of it afterward.

If you already have a hiatal hernia diagnosed, maybe it's a hiatal hernia repair surgery?
