I am interested in the discussion about treating Crohns disease with iodine. A person wrote that iodine deficiencies are pretty rare. I can say to that-you want to bet? I was (blood) tested for iodine and was found severely deficient. The second time I was tested for iodine (after 3 months of 5% lugols iodine/2 drops per day on skin), I was tested and still found deficient. Before I started taking iodine, I felt so ill I had nothing to loose, I was ready to walk into the emergency room of a hospital. My sed rate also went down to within range after taking the iodine for 3 months. Think of it this way, one can always try it- a trial- and then stop at any time.
